UH loses heartbreaker at BYU

The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team fell to top-ranked Brigham Young in five sets in a quarterfinal match of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament in Provo, Utah, on Saturday.

BYU won the match 25-19, 20-25, 22-25, 25-12, 15-13 to end Hawaii's season.

Brook Sedore had 18 kills to lead UH, while Taylor Averill added 16.

The Warriors (11-17) finished with a 57-56 edge in kills.

BYU (23-4) advanced to the MPSF semifinals behind 25 kills from Ben Patch and 13 from Taylor Sander.

The Cougars had a 19-11 advantage in blocks.
