The owners of Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery are getting in the community spirit with their first Earth Day event Saturday, April 20.
The inaugural project will gather the community together for a roadside cleanup of Omaopio Road in lower Kula starting at 7:30 a.m., at their new location. Driving up the mountain, it's the driveway below Surfing Goat Dairy Farm at 4051 Omaopio Road. Turn right.
Participants will be provided with gloves, bags and water. From 11 a.m. to noon, Ocean Vodka will host a free barbecue lunch for all participants on the grounds of their new abode.
Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery will host Community Day on Saturday, April 20, with a roadside cleanup of its Omaopio neighborhood —and the public is invited. Organic sugarcane that is harvested with no burning is grown on property.

"Ocean Vodka is committed to supporting the island of Maui. We thought the perfect way to celebrate Earth Day and the opening of our new organic farm is to host a clean up of our neighborhood," says CEO Shay Smith, who is Maui born and raised.
"We believe in keeping our land and oceans clean, and all of it starts at home."
Ocean Vodka will host other Community Days throughout the year to draw attention and create action surrounding the important environmental challenges facing the community of Maui.
In addition, vodka aficonados should mark their calendars for Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery's grand opening bash that is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27. It will feature a gift shop martini garden, and much more. Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery will then open to the public for tours on Monday, April 29.
