Rainbows earn fourth win in five games

Matt Cooper worked 7 2/3 solid innings and Piikea Kitamura drove in four runs as the University of Hawaii baseball team beat Wichita State 7-0 on Saturday at Murakami Stadium in Honolulu.

Stephen Ventimilia scored three times for the Rainbows (5-16), who won for the fourth time in five games. Cooper (2-2) allowed eight hits, struck out 10 batters and walked none.

The Shockers fell to 12-11. Kris Gardner (1-3) allowed three runs over three innings.

The teams will finish their five-game series today.
