A high surf warning is in effect for north and west facing shores of Molokai and north facing shores of Maui until 6 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
A large west northwest swell will produce surf along north facing shores that will be 20 to 25 feet Thursday night. Surf along west facing shores will be 15 to 20 feet.
A high surf warning means that dangerous, battering waves will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous swimming conditions and deadly rip currents.
