Army Reserve Pvt. Tyler H. Kozub has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
During nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, engaged in physical fitness and received instruction in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and basic first aid.
Kozub is the son of Kristopher Kozub and the stepson of Holly Kozub of Kahului.
He is a 2011 graduate of Baldwin High School.

Army Spec. Preston R. Kim has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners.
Kim is a food-service specialist assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
He has served in the military for one year.
He is the son of Ellen Kim and Eric Ourn, both of Wailiku.
The specialist is a 2010 graduate of Baldwin High School.

Army Warrant Officer 1 Harvey C. Alipio has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners. Active-duty and reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific and Europe.
Alipio is an automotive maintenance warrant officer assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served in the military for 11 years.
He is the son of Eutropia Alipio of Lahaina.
The warrant officer is a 2001 graduate of Lahainaluna High School. He received an associate degree in 2010 from Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas.
