* BASKETBALL
April 6, May 11, June 10-14-Temeka Johnson and Glory Johnson, who were with the WNBA's Tulsa Shock last season, will offer instruction at a BasketballMaui clinic scheduled for May 11 at the outdoor courts at Maui High School in Kahului. Separately, a clinic is scheduled for April 6 at the Montessori School of Maui in Makawao. Instruction will be offered from 8 to 10:30 a.m. for boys and girls 7-12, and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for boys and girls 13-18. A basketball camp for boys and girls 7-18 is scheduled for June 10-14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, at West Maui and Upcountry sites. The fee is $145 through May 15, and $195 from May 16 to June 10. Scholarships are available. In conjunction with that camp, boys and girls in high school can also register for continued instruction from 4 to 9 p.m. each day at Seabury Hall in Olinda for an additional $40. * CANOE PADDLING
April 6-Kihei Canoe Club will host the Paddlers Open Regatta on April 6 at Ka Lae Pohaku, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. and races starting at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee for the event, a fundraiser for the club's keiki and seasonal programs, is $135 until April 5, and $150 on race day. The entry fee for the one-person pull race is $10. Lunch will be provided. Registration forms are available at kiheicanoeclub.com/paddlersopen.php.

* CYCLING
April 28-29-The Maui Stage Race is scheduled for April 28-29. On the first day, a time trial is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. and a criterium for 2 p.m., both in Kahului. On the second day, a 36-mile road race will begin at 6:30 a.m. in Keokea. The registration fees for adults are $35 for the time trial, $45 for the criterium and $70 for the road race, or $125 for all three. The junior entry fees are $10 each for the time trial or criterium, and $20 for the road race, or $40 for all three. Contact: mauistagerace.com.

March 30-The Pharmacy Group scholarship golf tournament is scheduled for March 30 at The King Kamehameha Golf Club in Waikapu, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $175 per person. All participants will receive a Titleist SM4 Vokey Wedge, and the fee also pays for greens fees, use of a cart, lunch and eligibility for prizes. April 6-The Jim Sanders Realty Maui Women's Golf Championship is scheduled for April 6 at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville. The event is open to women who are Maui residents at least 18 years old with a current GHIN handicap. The entry fee is $60, which also pays for greens fees, use of a cart, an awards luncheon and eligibility for prizes. The entry deadline is March 26, or after the field of 72 is full. May 11-A U.S. Open local qualifier is scheduled for May 11 at the King Kamehameha Golf Club in Waikapu. Entry must be completed at usga.org/champs/apply by 11 a.m. on April 24. Sectional qualifying will take place June 3 at 11 U.S. sites, and the tournament is scheduled for June 13-16 at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa. Contact: Jeff Halpin, 667-1111.
