The Japanese Cultural Society of Maui is accepting entries for its 2013 Maui Matsuri T-shirt design contest.
The entry deadline is March 25. The winner will receive $100 and five T-shirts and will be recognized in a May 8 Maui Matsuri tabloid in The Maui News.
Artists may draw their entry on 11-by-17-inch white paper or submit a computer rendering of the design. All entries should include the kanji symbol (Japanese calligraphy) for ganbari, with a reference to its definition: perseverance.
All instructions and ganbari calligraphy can be found on the Maui Matsuri website at www.mauimatsuri.com.
Contestants may drop off their entry forms and artwork at Araki-Regan & Associates LLC, 1823 Wells St., Suite 2A, Wailuku 96793 or mail it in to the same address.
