Engineers announce results of Math Matters competition

The team from Pomaikai Elementary School repeated as the team champions of the 2013 Math Matters Competition on March 2 at the University of Hawaii Maui College.

Pukalani Elementary came in second, and Wailuku Elementary came in third. There were teams from 15 Maui County schools and a home-schooled student.

The home-schooled student, 4th-grader Jim Campbell, captured the individual title. Finishing behind Campbell were 5th-grader Johnel Torrejas of Pomaikai in second and 5th grader Jason Huynh of Wailuku Elementary, third.
