Lahainaluna High School posted the lowest team score of the Maui Interscholastic League boys golf season, and took sole possession of first place, with a 148-191 win over Maui High on Thursday at the Kaanapali Kai Course.
Malu Rosenthal carded a 35 for the Lunas (4-0), who moved a half-game in front of unbeaten Baldwin in the MIL standings. Rhett Wiseman had a 37, while Jake Horton and Lucas Bell each had rounds of 38. Tristan Villa had a 42, and Kerek Franz a 49.
The Sabers (0-4) were led by Zackary Taylor's 38. Ian Bingham had a 50, Marvyn Guillermo posted a 51 and Chase Baker carded a 52. Ross Takemoto had a 69.
* BALDWIN GIRLS 119, KAMEHAMEHA MAUI 138: At Kahili Golf Course, Kimberlie Miyamoto had a 37 and Marissa Uradomo carded a 39 as Baldwin won a 45th straight MIL match.
Kirstin Ishikawa's 43 was the other score that counted for the Bears (4-0). Kaylee Shimi-zu had a 47, Erin Kobayashi a 51 and Kailey Garcia a 68.
Kamehameha Maui (0-4) got a 45 from Nicole Naga-mine, a 48 from Shaina Hipolito and a 49 from Kidi Joyo. Kalena Tamashiro shot 59.
* MAUI HIGH GIRLS 123, SEABURY HALL 174: At Waiehu Municipal Golf Course, Jasmine Cabajar had a 40 for Maui High (2-2).
Kristeena Locke (41) and Taylor Akamine (42) also scored for the Sabers. Anna Apana carded a 47, Kate-Lynn Uaiwa-Brown had a 55 and Dayna Yoshimura shot 58.
The scorers for Seabury Hall (2-2) were Jimmsie Stisher (52), Natasha Salamack (58) and Jessica Brown (64). Simone Baldwin recorded a 64, and Joy Balinbin and Piikea Lono each had rounds of 72.
* LAHAINALUNA GIRLS DEF. KING KEKAULIKE, FORFEIT: At the Kapalua Bay Course, Caylyn Villatora had a 47 for Lahainaluna (4-0), Caitlyn Villatora had a 48 and Jennifer Mentz a 54.
Bailey Pendergast had a 65 for the Lunas.
King Kekaulike (0-4) had two players - Nicole Umeno (43) and Emma Raymond (58).
