FIRST PHOTO: Kealia Pond National Wildlife Sanctuary park ranger Courtney Brown (from left) gets help in removing invasive pickleweed plants recently from Marline Fernandez, Nicole Fernandez, 6, and Tianna Fernandez, 11. Brown said that pickleweed can pose dangers to chicks and also displaces the native akulikuli plants. Marline Fernandez said that the family was taking part in the project with her son, Webelos Scout Trever Fernandez, 9, and other Scouts from Troop 64 under the direction of Scoutmaster Kevin Tanaka.
