Church offers discussion group

Ala Lani United Methodist Church will launch an ecumenical discussion group about spiritually stirring issues of believers, beginning 6 p.m. Saturday with a talk on "Intimacy with God."

It will be presented by the Rev. Lilia Lopez-Rahman.

The event will include coffee and doughnuts. The church is at 50 S. Papa St. in Kahului.

Spiritual disciplines classes to be held

Pastor John Youell will teach three classes next week on the spiritual disciplines of a leader at the Wailuku Door of Faith Church.

The three classes cost $17 and will be held 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Youell is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M., and the Covington Theological Seminary.

'Upgrading Your Spiritual Core' set

Apostolic Ministries of the Pacific Church will present "Upgrading Your Spiritual Core" with Graham Cooke this weekend.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. today, 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary at 349 Hanakai St., Suite A, in Kahului.

Participants can "learn to submit our outer man to our inner man so that nothing from the outside can shake who we have been created to be."
