It's estimated that about $5.6 billion was spent for this year's Super Bowl.
On that same day, about 25,000 people died of hunger and hunger-related causes around the world. One person dies on this Earth every 3 seconds due to hunger and extreme poverty. There is nothing wrong with enjoying sports, or any other wholesome recreational activity.
I have to wonder, however, about our priorities. What if we had taken that $5.6 billion and tried our best to feed every hungry person around the world and then played a football game if there was anything left over?
Just a thought. And, as always, I'm pointing the finger at myself every 3 1/2 seconds.
