Dean’s Lists

Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles announced that three students from Maui had been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester: Kaitlin Dela Cruz of Makawao, Ashley Hudson of Kihei and Kayla Mikasa of Makawao.

Students named to the Dean's List must complete 15 semester-hours and earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better. Additionally, a student must have completed all of his or her courses and never received an F in any course.

Chad Ikeda, a sophomore and resident of Kahului, has been named to the Dean's List at the University of Washington in Seattle for 2012 and also to the Dean's List for the autumn quarter.

To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must be taking at least 12 graded credits and have a grade-point average of at least 3.5.

Ikeda is the son of Blaine and Kathie Ikeda of Kahului. He is majoring in biology. He is a 2011 graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Maui.

Moani Ichinose was a recipient of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the 2012 fall term at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.

To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 grade-point average while enrolled in at least four courses.

Ichinose, a senior at Colgate, is a graduate of Seabury Hall.

Joanna P. Harran of Pukalani was named to the Dean's List at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, for the fall semester.

Harran, an English major, is a graduate of Seabury Hall and the daughter of Wayne and Janet Harran of Pukalani.

Cassandra Remer of Kahului was named to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Dean's List for the fall semester. She is an education and human sciences major.

Victoria Rae Puaku'u Loewen of Wailuku made the Seattle Pacific University 2012 Autumn Quarter Dean's List. Students on the Dean's List completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.50 or higher grade-point average.

Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Wash., has issued its fall semester 2012 Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement.

To earn academic honors at Saint Martin's, undergraduate students must receive a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale), carry at least a 12 semester-hour course load and complete all work undertaken for the semester.

Making the list are Justine Nicole Malek, a freshman from Kula studying education; Natasha Amber Sensano, a senior from Kahului studying English; and Andrea Lynne Thyne, a senior from Haiku studying business administration.
