Kamehameha Maui loses in quarterfinals

King Kekaulike to play for seventh place

King Kekaulike High School got three goals from Kayela Santiago in a 5-0 win over Waianae on Thursday in an Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Girls Soccer Division I State Championships consolation game at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex, earning a spot in Saturday's seventh-place match. Third-seeded Kameha-meha Maui lost 3-0 to Punahou in a quarterfinal game, and Seabury Hall was eliminated from the Division II tournament with a 5-0 loss to Kamehameha Hawaii.

Santiago scored in the 22nd, 62nd and 72nd minutes. Tiare Matsuura scored for Na Alii (11-3-2) in the 24th and Mahina Ashdowne-Deponte in the 69th.

Waianae finished 8-7-1.

King Kekaulike will play for seventh against Kealakehe, which defeated Pearl City 2-0.

Punahou (12-1-1) got goals from Lauren Candelario, Dempsey Banks and Kyllie-Ann Yasutake. Jensen Toner had two assists. Kamehameha Maui (12-3-0) will play in a fifth-place semifinal today against Kahuku, which lost 3-0 to second-seeded Mililani.

Kekai Wong Yuen scored twice for Kamehameha Hawaii against Seabury. Kera Akiyama, Harper Hottendorf and Sara Kim also scored for the Warriors (10-5-0), who advanced to the seventh-place game. Seabury finished 3-12-1.
