Sunday afternoon, armchair quarterbacks all around the island will be cheering for their favorite team.
Many of us will root for the San Francisco '49ers, and the rest of you will cheer for the Baltimore Ravens. (Oops, am I supposed to be unbiased here?!)

StopWatch Sports Bar & Grill will be the place to huddle in Makawao, the heart of paniolo country.
"It's going to be our 19th annual Super Bowl party!" says partner Haru Hiu-Arian. "As usual, there will be no cover charge, and we'll have a pupu buffet at half time, the Bud Girls during the fourth quarter, and $200 in cash giveaways."
Since pregame coverage begins as early as 9:30 a.m., you may want to grab a seat and savor a leisurely breakfast during the buildup to the Big Game.
"We open for breakfast at 8 a.m. and serve our signature Eggs Benedict along with our really popular biscuits and gravy, banana pancakes, Bloody Marys and Mimosas," says Hiu-Arian.
Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m., Hawaii time. Save your appetite for halftime pupu of mini kalua-turkey sliders with guava-barbecue sauce and cole slaw; sesame-chicken wings with mango chutney; and manly chorizo chili and rice.
"Lately, we've been doing an authentic Indian chicken curry and we should have some cooking this weekend."

Sports Page Grill & Bar at Kamaole Beach Shopping Center on South Kihei Road boasts 26 TVs and lots of seating in its air-conditioned lounge.
"On Super Bowl Sunday, we'll be open during our regular hours from 11 a.m. until closing," says the Sports Page's managing partner Mischa Vosberg.
Sports fans will be happy to learn that draft beers, Bud Light and Coors Light will be $3 all day long.
"But all of our Super Bowl specials as well as our free giveaways will happen from noon to 5 p.m.," says Vosberg.
Each of Sports Page's vendors will come on strong with specials. You may be the lucky winner of baseball hats, key chains, coolers, T-shirts, and much more.
Pupu start at $2.50 for beef tacos, and $3 for fish tacos. In that same price range, you may also sink your teeth into buffalo chicken wings and bacon-cheeseburger sliders that are juicy and tender.
"Or you may create, or put together your own combo platter for $20 and the pupu come on really cute football-shaped dishes that we ordered," says Vosberg.

Located in the same building as Waiehu Superstop off of Lower Waiehu Beach Road is a powerhouse of an ethnic eatery called Watercress Sports Bar & Grill.
Cool and comfortable with cushy booths and joiner tables that you may arrange to suit your party, it's a popular local hangout.
"We also have a pool table, which makes it more fun," says owner Susie Kim. "Do make reservations for Super Bowl, because we'll be party central."
With nine television sets situated so you may view the game from every corner, the bar and grill will be cooking from 11 a.m. all the way until 2 a.m.
"For Super Bowl, we'll have some drink specials such as $2 draft beers and $2 shots of liquor. You may also ask the bartender for other specials."
Besides the discounted drinks, the food is reason enough to dine there.
"A lot of people say they like our mochiko chicken," says Kim. "Other menu highlights are Mongolian beef, and honey-walnut shrimp - all perfect for sharing."
The tong kalbi is a signature dish of tender boneless short ribs with onions presented on a sizzling platter. It is accompanied by fresh lettuce leaves, garlic and jalapeno slices, and miso sauce. Tucked away in Wailuku Industrial Area at 875 Alua St., TJ's Warehouse Outlet is a one-stop shop for all of your Super Bowl needs. That's because in addition to its local menu, it's inside Maui Chemical & Paper Products, Inc., its parent company, so it's a given that plates, cups and the whole nine yards are for sale there. Ditto for beer such as Heineken, and sake.
TJ's, in fact, won Best Bento islandwide in the most current Best of Maui contest and it uses no MSG. It also boasts local favorites on its hot okazuya line.
"We also have a catering menu, and we normally sell a lot of platters for Super Bowl," says Manager Joe Kawasaki. "The meat combo is the best, because you can pick two of what you want, such as teri beef and garlic chicken."

Renowned as the "little giant of Happy Valley," Takamiya Market is regularly open from 5:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays. But it will accommodate sports fans from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday for this special occasion.
"You may call ahead for seafood such as sashimi and poke platters," says Supervisor Jan Saiki. "And we'll have our seafood case for smaller portions of seafood. As far as cooked items like fried chicken, teriyaki and won tons, we'll have these for you to grab and go, and, some sushi, too."
Takamiya Market does some of the best macaroni-potato combo salad around. It sells Korean ribs, hamburger, pork, chicken and steak to throw on the grill, and cold beer for your party. Call 244-3404.
Last but not least, Oki's Seafood Corner at Foodland in Kahului dishes up sashimi and poke platters, oysters, kim-chee crab, ogo and edamame.
