At the annual Christmas party held by the Kahului Lions Club, a check for $10,000 is presented to the Center for Independent Living, Maui Branch. Presenting the check to Nani Watanabe, director of the center, is Ray Rivera of the Kahului Lions Club. The check is a result of the completion of a 100-man-hour-project with funds provided by the Jeannette and Harry Weinberg Foundation.
