Seabury Hall is offering academically motivated students the opportunity to apply for a Malone Family Foundation scholarship for the upcoming 2013-14 school year.
Seabury Hall was selected by the foundation as a recipient of the Malone Scholarship Program and was awarded a $2 million endowment in May. The endowment provides scholarships for students ranked in the top 5 percent nationally who might not be able to afford a Seabury Hall education.
Students applying for admission to grades 7 through 12 who would like to be considered for the scholarship must meet the following requirements: demonstrate a record of academic excellence, exemplary citizenship and leadership potential; score at or above the 95th percentile on a recognized standardized test in reading and/or math, such as SSAT, ISEE, ERB or PSAT; demonstrate financial need to qualify for funding of at least 30 percent of tuition; be a United States citizen; and meet the admissions requirements of Seabury Hall.
The amount of the award will vary according to the financial need demonstrated by the student's family. The scholarship is available only to those students not previously enrolled in Seabury Hall.
More information about the Malone Scholarship Program will be available during an open house at the Makawao campus from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. in Cooper House.
The deadline to submit a scholarship application is Feb. 16.
