UH volleyball falls in five sets to Ohio State

The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team lost a heartbreaker in its first home match of the season.

Andrew Lutz had 20 kills, Michael Henchy added 17 and Chen Levitan had 16 as Ohio State beat Hawaii 22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17, 15-12 on Thursday in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Volleyball Invitational at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Peter Heinen had 58 assists for the No. 10 Buckeyes (2-0).

JP Marks had 19 kills, Sinisa Zarkovic added 12 and Jace Olsen had 11 for Hawaii, which lost twice at Brigham Young last week.

Max Wechsung had 49 assists for the Warriors (0-3).

In the earlier match, No. 5 UCLA beat No. 7 Penn State 19-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-21, 15-10.

UH plays Penn State today.
