Maui artist Belinda Leigh invites you to celebrate the grand reopening of her 505 Gallerie in Lahaina from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
505 Gallerie first opened in 2008. It was Leigh's longtime dream to expand it. So she has recently stripped it down to the bare walls to showcase the work of 24 artists, including Anna Good and neo-pop artist Davo.
Named after the 505 Front St. Shops, Gallerie 505 will open with new artists, old standbys and new art consultants. The opening celebration will feature a Hawaiian blessing, wine and cheese tasting, and a host of artists working at easels.

Located a few blocks south of Lahaina's famous banyan tree with Feast of Lele, Pacific'o and I'o restaurants as neighbors, the gallery is convenient to town.
Leigh paints Hawaiiana art, Davo apprenticed with Andy Warhol; Good is a modern impressionist who uses a palette to apply heavy, thick paint; Kim McDonald is known for her whimsical Polynesian works; and artist-photographer Randy Miller is famous for his eight- foot murals.
Impressionist Andy Walton will also be featured. But 505's international star is Sam Park, known as "the grandfather of the new impressionism." His works include "Barcelona" and "Siena Sunset," exhibited in no less than 60 galleries around the world. 505 Gallerie has his largest collection on canvas, according to the owner.
Susan Figg, well known Maui art consultant; and Jeff Blair have joined the gallery to work with Leigh.
Sargent's Fine Art, 802 Front St., Lahaina is continuing to host artist Deborah Crone evenings from 7 to 10 through Jan. 20. Deborah paints in the fresco style, with colors and textures creating a unique sense of place and peacefulness.
"Her canvases can capture the pure joy of a Tuscan afternoon or the regal beauty of a Maui palm," says Sargent's Sharon Loveland. "Come join us and enjoy the entertainment of Curt Lee on Friday Art Nite."

Turnbull Fine Art gallery in Paia invites the public from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the works of East Coast jeweler Lisa Svedburg, Maui artist Christina DeHoff and the wines of John Hanhauser, who owns Virgil's Vineyard, a California boutique winery.
While the jewelry and the art are a feast for the eyes, attendees can continue to satisfy the senses with Hanhauser's boutique wine, Smuggler's Son.
Maui's own abstract painter Brad Forsythe was selected as a finalist for the Houston Center for Photography Fellowships in 2013. He work was chosen from an international field of 287 top photographers. He is represented also by Turnbull Fine Art in Paia. Call 579-9385.
