I'm Sugar (No. 93), and I came to the shelter in November in very bad shape. Someone had found me wandering alone and confused in Kahului. At 12 years old, I had bad eyes, hearing, teeth and bum knees. At times, it seemed like I had everything stacked against me. For some reason, everyone at the shelter fell hard for me. Then, Lorie stopped in for a quick visit to the shelter on her vacation. At first, she felt sorry for me. Then she fell in love. Lorie and her family decided I should move to live with them in Portland, Ore. After weeks of tests, vaccinations and a ton of emails, I finally made my way to my new home. Now I even live across the street from a dog park! I hope you'll give my friends at the shelter a happy ending of their own.
