The Maui News

Karen Camara is Lahaina Arts Society's featured artist for Janurary. Camara's show, titled "E Komo Mai (Welcome)," will be on display from Monday through Feb. 3 at the Banyan Tree Gallery.

There will be an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 11.

"I like to paint outside on location all over the islands," said Camara. "Oils are my medium of choice, but acrylics also find their way onto my canvas. I invite the viewer into my paintings in hopes they will feel the Aloha of this wonderful place I call home - e komo mai, welcome to my home!"
