The Maui News

The Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise will hold an electronic e-cycling event from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 12 in the St. Theresa Church parking lot, located at the corner of South Kihei Road and Lipoa Street.

The Rotarians will pick up or accept unwanted electronic equipment for a small donation while giving Kihei-area residents the opportunity to support the organization's scholarship and health activities for Maui students, along with other community projects. To arrange for pickup, call 633-4563.

Kihei Sunrise Rotarians, with the cooperation of the Maui County Electronics Recycling Program, will pick up the equipment and deliver it to Habitat for Humanity's Re-Store Warehouse in Wailuku for refurbishment or recycling.

The club requests a donation of $5 each for the following items: small boxes of accessories, TVs up to 19 inches, keyboards, speakers and laptops. The club requests $10 for a medium-sized box of accessories, TVs up to 25 inches, desktop computers and computer monitors. Larger equipment such as TVs larger than 25 inches and large boxes of accessories will cost $25 for pickup.

No appliances will be accepted.

The event will cover Kihei, Wailea, Maui Meadows and Maalaea only.

For further information, contact President Patty Hemmen at 280-8372 or visit the club's website, www.kiheirotary.org.
