KAILUA-KONA-The Kona Coffee Farmers Association is honoring Trader Joe's Co. for its "fair marketing" of 100 percent Kona coffee.
The association is giving the grocery chain honorary membership.
Trader Joe's does not have any locations in Hawaii. The honorary membership follows a shopping trip that an association member took to a Trader Joe's store in Seattle, in which he saw prominent mention of 100 percent Kona coffee on a cookie package.
