The Pacific Whale Foundation will hold two ocean camp winter sessions for children in kindergarten through 5th grade at the foundation's Discovery Center in Maalaea beginning Monday.
Campers can sign up for individual days or the entire session. Camps run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From Monday through Friday, the camp theme will be "Whale Tales," and children will explore the world of cetaceans. The program will include a visit to the Maui Ocean Center, a surfing lesson, a whale watch cruise and a visit to Iao Valley, along with games, art and music.
The camp will continue from Dec. 26 to 28. The theme is "Deep Divers," and campers will focus on giant squids, the nautilus and Hawaiian monk seals.
The camp includes tide pool exploration, beach fun, a visit to the Maui Ocean Center and a whale watch cruise, along with art and science projects.
The camp fee is $72 a day - or $55 for PWF members.
