NEW YORK (AP) - Heisman Trophy runner-up Manti Te'o was named a first-team linebacker on The Associated Press All-America team released Tuesday.
Te'o, a Punahou School graduate, has a team-high 103 tackles this season, and his seven interceptions are a school record for a linebacker. Te'o received the Walter Camp and Max-well awards as national player of the year last week.
Heisman winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M was named first-team quarterback.

Alabama, which will face Notre Dame in the Bowl Championship Series title game on Jan. 7, had four first-team picks - center Barrett Jones, a two-time first-teamer, as well as guard Chance Warmack, linebacker C.J. Mosley and cornerback Dee Milliner. Crimson Tide tackle D.J. Fluker was named to the second team, and A.J. McCarron is the third-string quarterback.
Fighting Irish tight end Tyler Eifert and defensive end Stephon Tuitt made the second team, and center Braxston Cave was picked for the third team.
