Lolohea Mahe of Kahului, who has fought in the Strikeforce and King of the Cage mixed martial arts series, will be in the main event in Saturday's inaugural Maui Fighting Championships card at the Maui Mall in Kahului.
Mahe will face Matt Kovaks of Washington state in a heavyweight bout. In a middleweight co-main event, Molokai's Sale Sproat - this year's bull-riding champion at the Makawao Rodeo - will meet J.T. Taylor of Oregon.
Undercard bouts are to begin at 6:30 p.m., and tickets cost $25.
The fights are part of a multiday MMA exhibition at the Maui Mall.
On Thursday, weigh-ins for bouts in "Just Kicking It" kickboxing and no-gi cage grappling are set for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The kickboxing and grappling matches are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and tickets for those fights are $15. Also on Friday, participants in the MMA card will weigh in.
Prior to Saturday's fights, a keiki martial arts demonstration is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Toy drives will take place at all events, and donors will receive a $5 discount on any ticket. Tickets can be purchased during the Maui Mall events, and at the YNVU clothing store in the Maui Mall, Mr. Subs in Lahaina or Just Wing It in Kihei.
