I'm sorry, but I have been living on Maui since 1985 and I am tired of hearing people complain about Maui because of cane burning. Anyone who reads about the history of Maui should know that without sugar cane this beautiful island would be back to being a dust bowl.
Further, people who have asthma or other breathing ailments should quit complaining about vog, smoking, etc., and simply consider moving to another island or someplace else. This island should be treasured and doesn't need more complainers.
Try visiting the Sugar Cane Museum and read about the real history of Maui.
