MIL soccer: Lunas stay unbeaten, extend lead

Rhys Lendio scored off a corner kick by Rodrigo Haro in the first half, and Sergio Gallardo added a second-half goal on a free kick as Lahainaluna High School widened its lead in the Maui Interscholastic League boys soccer standings with a 2-0 victory over Maui High on Saturday in Kahului.

The Lunas (3-0-1) are seven points ahead of the closest teams in Division I.

The Sabers fell to 1-1-0.

* MAUI HIGH GIRLS 2, LAHAINALUNA 0: At Kahului, Maui High teammates Mary-Lynn Johannes and Tiare Lucas scored during a three-minute span in the second half - both off assists from Malia Yamashiro.

Johannes' goal in the 49th minute came off a corner kick, and Lucas' goal in the 52nd was from 30 yards out.

The Sabers are now 3-1-0, while Lahainaluna is 2-3-0.

Kenagy scored in the 41st minute, on an assist from Sarah Nomuta, and in the 70th, on an assist by Mia Gaddis, who had scored in the 20th minute.
