Baldwin edges Seabury as tournament tips off

The Baldwin High School boys basketball team used a balanced scoring performance to defeat Seabury Hall 45-40 on Thursday on the opening day of the Baldwin Tournament at the Baldwin gym.

Teva Eldridge scored nine points for the Bears, and six other players had at least four.

Kaleb Palmer scored 15 points for the Spartans, and Cameron King added 13.

* PUNAHOU 47, UNIVERSITY 43, OT: Punahou scored all eight of its overtime points from the foul line.

Alexander Shin scored 12 points for the Buffanblu, four in the extra period. Daniel Howe added 10 points.

University's R.J. Realubit scored 11 points, and Anthony Canencia had 10.

KAMEHAMEHA MAUI CLASSIC

* KAMEHAMEHA MAUI 63, KEALAKEHE 26: At Kaulaheanuiokamoku Gym, four players scored in double figures for Kamehameha Maui.

The Warriors' Tatiana Medeiros had 14 points, while Ashley Tanoue-Singson, Neula Aarona and Jaylin Seto added 10 apiece.

Kealakehe got 11 points from Tiani Terazona.

* KING KEKAULIKE 63, KAPAA 19: Ariana Valdez scored 19 points to help King Kekaulike earn a victory.

Charlene Hanie scored eight points for Kapaa.

* BALDWIN 61, MOLOKAI 36: Kiana Kalehuawehe and Kaci Shimabuku each scored nine points for Baldwin.

Lehiwa Pedro was Molokai's top scorer, with 11 points.
