I live up Lahainaluna Road. Watching the water trucks going up and down since the beginning of the bypass has got me baffled.
With the current practice of pumping wastewater via injection wells, which hurts the reef, why can't we add on to the existing line which terminates at the Kaanapali golf course and run it along the proposed path of the bypass? It could be then used now for dust control and later to irrigate the bypass. All the parks and even the current road makai of the bypass could be irrigated.
I'm told that watering during the day consumes 60 percent more water, so if they need to get rid of more, water during the day.
Also, I was told that there is an existing empty water storage tank above the plant that could be used during the night for later use. Is there anyone out there who is thinking?
