Two players ace Wailea hole in nine-day span

Jon Armel of Wailea recorded a hole-in-one at Wailea Old Blue Golf Club on Oct. 29, and Robert Richards of Salt Lake City aced the same hole on Nov. 6.

Both of the 162-yard shots were made with 6-irons.

Armel's shot was witnessed by Louis Weinstein, George Klempert and John Lycette Jr. Richards' ace was witnessed by Becky Richards, Kirk Schnieder and Nata Schnieder.

Arakawa records ace on No. 3 at Pukalani

Wesley Arakawa of Makawao had a hole-in-one at Pukalani Country Club on Monday.

Arakawa aced the third hole, using a 7-iron for the 136-yard shot, which was witnessed by Craig Sumida.

Flag football league seeking teams

CrossFit Maui's seven-on-seven Flag Football League is accepting the first 13 teams to register.

Games are to begin Jan. 5.

Lokahi Volleyball Club will conduct a practice for boys and girls ages 12-18 on Tuesday at the Baldwin High School gym in Wailuku.

Softball registration slated for next month

Lahaina Girls Softball registration for players ages 5-16 is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. on Dec. 6 for returning participants, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Dec. 8 for new players.

The registration fee for players 8 and under is $35, with a $10 discount for siblings. The registration fee for all other players is $100, with a $5 discount for siblings.

Players must be present at the time of registration. New players must bring a copy of their birth certificate and health and emergency information.

Volunteers for coaching are also being sought.
