On behalf of the 3rd-grade students, parents and teachers at Makawao Elementary, I would like to thank Joe Chopen and members of the Upcountry Rotary Club for their generous donation of student dictionaries. With the help of donations from supporters such as the Upcountry Rotary we are able to provide our students with a positive and engaging learning environment. Thank you for your dedication to education and our children.

Easter Seals Hawaii has been serving people with disabilities since 1946. We would like to thank the many community members who contributed to the grand opening of the new Maui campus at the corner of South Wakea and Kaahumanu avenues. While the thank-you list is long, at the top is Leslie Kuloloio. Uncle Les was our spiritual teacher throughout the process. He graced us with our Hawaiian name Kaulana Na Hulu Maha A'o Maui, meaning "Famous are the Feathers of Maui." George Kahumoku Jr. and his students blessed us with their music for our grand opening on Sept. 14. Jesse Alpuro provided the sound system so we could all enjoy Uncle George's music. Many thanks to the Airport Lions Club (Kimo Kaili, Susan Kaili, Chris Kaili, Nick Kaili, Cecelia Hoopai, Patrick Fase) and the Kahului Lions Club (Bao Duong, Kelly Ruidas) for their hard work in helping us move our furniture to our new campus. Family members, friends, staff and participants all worked tirelessly to prepare for Maui's grand opening and for services to begin in mid-September. We are grateful for our new campus and look forward to another 65 years of serving the Maui Community.
