Condescending attitude contributes to GOP losses

November 11, 2012
The Maui News

I voted for Linda Lingle twice for mayor and twice for governor but would not vote for her as senator. Having the Republicans in charge of the House and Senate is too scary.

The Maui County Republican Party chairwoman is quoted in "Hirono prevails in all precincts in Maui County" (The Maui News, Nov. 8). "I don't think people use their brains when they vote," she said. "They vote because it's a religionlike thing."

It's condescending attitudes like that that keep people from voting for Republicans on the national level.
