I must say that Mitt Romney made a gracious and heartfelt concession speech. He actually does have a core, but has no faith in it and hence no follow-through.
The country has changed so much and it is more than a coincidence that President Barack Obama caught that wave. After seeing it swell in the far distance, he saw it, sized it up, paddled hard to catch it, avoided the dangerous reefs and remains poised and balanced to see it through.
Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" movie opens the 16th of this month and will be seen by millions of people who will see a president dealt a disastrous hand upon his ascension to the presidency, assailed on all sides, as he navigates his times and saves the union.
Obama is no Lincoln. But he is certainly Barack Obama to the core, and when this movie is seen, people will reflect on our current president and sense something that, at its heart, is powerful and good for our people. This man is, willy nilly, the man of these times, here and in the world. Mark it.
