Former Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona, a Republican, went on an anti-union tirade and appeared to be combative with a political analyst during the general election night coverage on a local television station, insinuating that unions have this power and influence over Hawaii's voters. That is just simply hogwash.
Perhaps instead of insulting the people of Hawaii on not being able to think for themselves on the issues that matter most and are important to them and their families and then base their votes solely on those issues, Mr. Aiona and the Republican Party/Tea Party should reflect on the real reasons they haven't been able to connect with the majority of voters in this state, and not blame their party's overwhelming loss on the nonsensical.
It's time that the GOP/TEA Party did a self-introspection and not make excuses for their own failures as a party.
