Guest steward to lead Sunday service
Iao United Church of Christ will welcome the Rev. Kealahou Alika as the guest steward for consecration Sunday.
This Sunday is the end of a four-week period of reflecting on what it means to be stewards and on the theme for 2012, which is "Blessed to Be a Blessing."
Alika will preach at the 9:30 a.m. worship service, with a luncheon to follow. Alika is pastor of the Keawala'i Congregational Church in Makena.
Iao United Church of Christ is at 2371 W. Vineyard St. in Wailuku.
Kani Ka Pila nights begin today in Kahului
Apostolic Ministries of the Pacific is introducing Kani Ka Pila nights on Fridays, according to an announcement.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at 349 Hanakai St. in Kahului.

Service to mark church's 59th anniversary
The Apostolic Faith Church (Jesus Coming Soon) will celebrate its 59th anniversary with a service at 10 a.m. Sunday in Lahaina.
Head Pastor Billy Han Jr., the overseer of Gospel work in the islands, will conduct the service and will preach a spirit-filled and spirit-directed sermon. The Maui band, choir and orchestra will present a program.
There's an evening service at 7.
The church is at 1211 Front St.
'Saints of Hawaii Nei' T-shirts available
Holy Rosary Church in Paia is extending its deadline for people who want to purchase T-shirts that commemorate the canonization event for Mother Marianne Cope in October.
The new deadline is Nov. 30.
The sand-color shirts have photos of St. Damien and St. Marianne on the back of the shirt with wording that includes "Saints of Hawaii Nei."
The front of the shirt will have the insignias of both of the orders that the saints belonged to.
Shirts are available in small, medium and large in youth sizes and as well as small, medium, large, extra large and extra-extra large in adult sizes.
Youth shirts are $12 and adult shirts $15. The XXL shirts are $16.
Those ordering the shirts from other islands or out of state need to include $5 for two shirts (or $5 if only ordering one shirt) to allow for shipping costs.
Checks should be made out to Holy Rosary Church. People should include a contact phone number.
