As I return from my favorite night of the year in Lahaina, I think of the years they didn't close Front Street and all because of just a couple of people who were offended by a few thousand people laughing and enjoying a street that most times more tourists frequent than the local community.
Thank you, Mayor Alan Arakawa and the legal system that could see that Halloween is a great community event and a showcase for our island.
I hope there are plenty more and that it can grow to where it left off before our old mayor tried to take it away from us.
