I'm happy to have Halloween in Lahaina again.
But I do have a problem with gouging of a parking lot.
I have been volunteering to help with the LahainaTown Action Committee for the last two years.
Last year I paid $5 for parking at the lot next to Hilo Hattie.
This year it was $7 for parking, even when I informed them I was a volunteer. I think this is just too much. As I left, the parking lot was not full, but I found cars stacked up at the end of street and families walking with their children to the free parking at Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Maybe the parking lot management and the LTAC could make some consideration of those who are just giving their time and effort to promote and pay for this event. Or even the people who come with their families who don't have the money for this.
Maybe someone should think about this. This is a family and local event.
