Public may purchase personalized brick to be installed at Kamaole Beach Park III

November 4, 2012
The Maui News

South Maui Volunteers are encouraging the public to purchase a personalized brick to be installed at Kamaole Beach Park III. Proceeds will benefit the volunteer organization in its effort to protect the area's coastline dune system.

South Maui Volunteers works under the direction of the county parks and planning departments and the U.H. Sea Grant coastal hazard specialist. Recent accomplishments include removing invasive plant species, planting native dune plants and constructing dune walkovers to prevent erosion while providing convenient access for beach users.

Those who want to purchase a brick as a gift are advised to order by Nov. 21 for Christmas delivery. Miniature clay replicas are available to wrap as a gift.

Purchases are tax-deductible when the check is made payable to the organization's nonprofit sponsor, Tri-isle Resource Conservation & Development. Order forms are available at www.southmauivolunteers.com.
