Jimmy Dominguez of Kula recorded a hole-in-one at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville on Friday.
Dominguez aced the 16th hole, using an 8-iron for the 115-yard shot, which was witnessed by Rob Diener, Chick Decoite and Ed Barton.

Youth volleyball tryouts on Saturday
Maui Volleyball Club will conduct tryouts and registration for the 2012-2013 season on Saturday at the Kamehameha Schools Maui middle school gym in Pukalani.
Tryouts for girls and boys ages 14 and under are scheduled for 2-4 p.m., and tryouts for girls and boys 18 and under for 4-6 p.m. A player is considered 14 and under if born on or after Sept. 1, 1997. A player is considered 18 and under if born on or after Sept. 1, 1994.
Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to each tryout.

Tryouts have been scheduled for county Parks and Recreation menehune basketball, for boys and girls in grades 6-8, in the Wailuku, Kahului and Upcountry districts.
Kahului girls tryouts are scheduled for 9:45-11:30 a.m. Saturday, 2-4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 4-6 p.m. on Nov. 9, all at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku. Junior Golf fundraiser tournament on Dec. 1
The Lahaina Junior Golf Association has scheduled a fundraiser tournament for Dec. 1 at the Kaanapali Kai Course, with registration scheduled for 11:30 a.m., and a shotgun start one hour later.
The entry fee for the four-player shamble is $100 per player, which also pays for greens fees, use of a cart and admission to an awards dinner.
