Burning cane is not harmful by burning leaves. It is harmful because they burn chemicals that are toxic.
Kona winds bring up vog. Vog has toxic sulphur in air. There is vog even when it rains. Raindrops are acidic.
I don't think Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co. burns cane when it rains.
So those who raise cain about burning cane, many suffer more from vog than the burning of cane.
The cane mutiny: Protesting without the voggiest of idea.
Protest with a solution.
Use cane vinegar extract of sugar cane or use regular vinegar to kill weeds. Don't use toxic chemicals.
