DUI Sentences

The following sentences for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor occurred during the period of Oct. 23 to 25. The listings include the offender's name, age, residence and charges. First offenders undergo a 14-hour alcohol abuse rehabilitation program, a substance abuse evaluation and a one-year license suspension with the ability to operate a vehicle if qualified for an ignition interlock device.

Wailuku District Court:

Clarence Fune, 30, Kahului; DUI, driving without a license; $350 fine, $412 in fees.

Vicente Garcia-Magana, 50, Waiehu; DUI (second conviction in five years); five-day jail term, $500 fine, $437 in fees.

Buffy Grow, 44, Kihei; DUI, reckless driving; five-day jail term, $300 fine, $412 in fees.

Leslie MacKenzie-Smith, 50, Kihei; DUI; $150 fine, $437 in fees.

Lahaina District Court:

Mary Peterson, 24, Lahaina; DUI; $150 fine.

Rueben Taasan, 33, Lahaina; DUI; $500 fine.

Molokai District Court:

Nicole Lee Kalipi, 39, Kaluaaha, Molokai; DUI; $150 fine, 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
