* BASEBALL

Saturday-Registration for Upcountry Little League's 2013 season is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Eddie Tam Gym in Makawao. The fee for tee-ball/coach pitch players - ages 4-8 - is $75 per player, and the fee for all other divisions is $95 per player. A $5 discount is available for siblings. A birth certificate copy is necessary for all players who do not have one on file with the league. Forms will be available at Pukalani Superette after Nov. 3. Volunteers are also needed for coaching, umpiring, scorekeeping, concession work and to serve as team parents. A current, valid driver's license or Hawaii state identification is required for volunteers, who will also undergo a background check. Nov. 13-Kihei Little League will conduct a general planning meeting for the 2013 baseball season at 6 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Kalama Park Pavilion. Volunteers are also needed for the board of directors, and to serve as managers, coaches, groundskeepers, scorekeepers, concession ser-vers, sponsors and umpires. Nov. 5-Registration for a West Maui Parks and Recreation basketball league for boys and girls in kindergarten through 8th grade will take place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the Lahaina Civic Center. Games will begin on Jan. 5. Contact: 661-4685.

Friday-The entry deadline for the Maui Aloha Golf Classic is Friday. The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 10-11 at the Wailea Old Blue Golf Course and Waiehu Municipal Golf Course, with a 7 a.m. shotgun start each day. The entry fee is $165, which also pays for use of a golf cart, admission to a pretournament party scheduled for 5 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Maui Tropical Plantation, an awards luncheon after the event and eligibility for contests. Saturday-The sixth annual Filipino Martial Arts Maui Open is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali. The registration fee is $30 for one event, and $10 for each additional event. Competition will be offered in padded-stick fighting, empty-hand kumite, submission grappling and multiple forms divisions, and is open to all ages in all styles and schools. * MOTOR SPORTS

Nov. 10 and Dec. 9-Paradise Speedway Maui in Puunene will host a demolition derby on Nov. 10, and two events on Dec. 9 - a mud-bog race and a rock crawl. For the derby, gates will open at 3:30 p.m., time trials will start at 6 p.m. and the race is to begin at 8 p.m. The mud-bog race will begin at 9 a.m., and the rock crawl will follow. Registration can be completed by calling 357-1435. On each day, spectator admission will be $10 for anyone 13 and over, $2 for youths 6-12 and free for youths 5 and under. Nov. 14-Adult and junior tennis clinics are scheduled for Nov. 14 at Wailea Tennis Club. Former U.S. Davis Cup captain and Olympic coach Tom Gullikson and former USTA national coach Mike Sell will conduct the junior clinic, and Taylor Dent, winner of four ATP singles titles, will offer instruction at the adult clinic. Both clinics are scheduled for 4-6 p.m. The fee for the junior clinic is $50, and the fee for the adult clinic is $100. Also, an exhibition match running in conjunction with the Wailea Fantasy Camp - which features Gullikson, Sell, Dent, three-time major champion Lindsey Davenport, former U.S. Open winner Tracy Austin and Melanie Oudin, who won a mixed doubles title at last year's U.S. Open - is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 17. Tickets are $10.
