The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team remained unbeaten in the Big West Conference by defeating UC Irvine 25-21, 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10 on the road Saturday.
The Rainbow Wahine (19-2, 12-0 Big West), No. 9 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings, got 29 kills from Emily Hartong, while Jade Vorster added 11, with a .476 hitting percentage. Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had four kills, and Ginger Long, a Kamehameha Maui graduate, had one assist and one dig.
The Rainbow Wahine improved to 4-1 in five-set matches this year - they are 4-0 in five-setters against Big West teams.
Marisa Bubica had 21 kills for the Anteaters (10-15, 5-6), who have lost six of their last eight matches.
Hawaii will play UC Santa Barbara on Thursday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
