Viewpoints Gallery in Makawao will have a grand opening reception at 6 p.m. Friday for a show entitled Color. Light. Space. The exhibit, which runs through Dec. 5, is the culmination of an ambitious one-year project designed to promote visual literacy.
Eleven Maui artists were selected to participate in a series of documented seminars focusing on each of the three areas (in the title of the show) to encourage new challenges and insights.
Proof of their efforts will be made evident in this exhibition with works executed in various media such as watercolors, oils, quilts, works on wood, pastels, kiln-formed glass and hand-made books.
