No cases of fungal meningitis found in Hawaii

October 23, 2012
The Maui News

In response to recent outbreaks of fungal meningitis associated with a widely distributed steroid medication utilized in injections for back pain, we at RadCare felt it was important to inform the public that there have been no cases reported in Hawaii.

Furthermore, Maui Memorial Medical Center did not receive any of the suspected contaminated lots.

RadCare continues to do image-guided steroid injections for back pain at MMMC and we use an alternative type of steroid medication.

RadCare is committed to the health and well-being of the community.
