The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team remained undefeated in Big West Conference play on Saturday night, but needed a huge rally to pull it off against Pacific at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The scores were 14-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-14, 15-11.
Emily Hartong had 20 kills, Jade Vorster added 13 and Ashley Kastl had 11 for the Rainbow Wahine, ranked ninth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.
Hawaii improved to 17-2 overall and 10-0 in conference play. Pacific fell to 16-6 overall, and 4-5 in the Big West.
Hawaii's Kalei Adolpho, a Molokai High School graduate, played in all five sets and had six kills and six blocks.
Ginger Long, a Kamehameha Schools Maui graduate, played in four sets and had a match-high three aces.
Mita Uiato had 45 assists for the Rainbow Wahine, and Kastl and Alyssa Longo each had 15 digs.
Three of Hawaii's conference victories have come in five sets.
Kat Schulz had 15 kills and Jennifer Sanders added 14 for the Tigers. Kimmy Whitson had 46 assists and Koala Matsuoka had 34 digs.
The Rainbow Wahine will next play conference road matches against Long Beach State on Friday and UC Irvine on Saturday.
