Walmart's Teacher Rewards Program recently awarded 20 Iao Intermediate School teachers with $50 reward cards to purchase classroom supplies in recognition of their commitment to education.
Iao School faculty and staff gathered for a reward card presentation by Walmart Maui Store Manager Jessica Aina and Assistant Manager Lorene Carvalho on Sept. 26 at the school. The teachers were also presented with a certificate and a gift bag.
Educators spend an estimated $500 out of their own pocket each year for classroom supplies, and the Teacher Rewards Program helps offset those costs, according to a news release.
