It was a very interesting meeting between Linda Lingle and Mazie Hirono (The Maui News, Oct. 9).
For some reason, Mazie's attitude toward the Republicans is that all the Republicans are bad people. Her attitude about borrowing more money to create a larger debt seemed like something she saw as something really fun to do, especially since the people are the ones to pay it back.
Of course, Linda's response with paying down debt and creating other means of creating revenue with a minimum of debt indicates more common sense.
This alone should give you an idea who you want to put your money on, using votes for money. If you want to keep your money, put your vote on the candidate who is trying to keep your money in your pocket.
The main thing is get out there and vote for your candidate, whomever it is. We live in a free society, appreciate it and show it by voting on Election Day.
