Ane earns weekly conference honor
University of New Haven sophomore Kaulana Ane, a Kamehameha Schools Maui graduate, was named the Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball setter of the week for Oct. 2-9 after totaling 112 assists in three matches, all wins, for the Chargers.
Ane had 39 assists, six kills and six digs in a sweep of Southeastern Connecticut State on Oct. 2, then had 45 assists, 15 digs, five kills and four aces in a four-set win over Long Island University Post on Oct. 5, and had 28 assists, three kills, four blocks and a dig the following day in a sweep of Merrimack. Ane had a team-best .310 hitting percentage in those three matches.
This season, Ane is averaging a conference-best 11.1 assists per set for the Chargers (15-1, 7-0 Northeast-10), and 2.1 digs. She has 50 kills and a .242 hitting percentage.

King Kekaulike soccer fundraiser Saturday
The King Kekaulike High School girls soccer team will conduct a fundraising silent auction from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Whole Foods at the Maui Mall in Kahului.

Pagay records ace at Elleair's 12th hole
Paul Pagay of Pukalani recorded a hole-in-one on Wednesday at Elleair Maui Golf Club in Kihei.
Pagay aced the 12th hole, using a 5-iron for the 175-yard shot witnessed by Eddie Lee, David Braxton, Keith Anderson and Buff Burton.
